YOU ARE HERE is an intellectually adventurous movie
that explores the nature of consciousness,
the relationship between technology and our sense of self,
and what happens to a mind when it spends too long
inside an experiment of its own devising.
The first feature by internationally successful video artist Daniel Cockburn, YOU ARE HERE is by turns funny, frightening, entertaining, thought-provoking, disturbing, and – ultimately – strangely moving.
Reminiscent of the mind-games of Charlie Kaufman and the experimentation of Steven Soderbergh, it’s nevertheless a new kind of cinematic storytelling, a fractured mirror reflecting this fragmented, interconnected world we call the 21st Century.
